Our Story

The story of Hearts Haven Ranch is not just the story of a place or an organization.

It's the story of a family, spanning three generations, coming together in this place. It's the story of a family doing life together, navigating all its peaks and valleys, its twists and turns, its treacherous yet Grace filled roads; merging their own stories, their own pasts, with the present, and following God into the future.

The Hearts Haven Ranch property was purchased in 2003. At the time, there was just an old farmhouse (which was actually two houses that had been joined together on blocks), and a little red cottage. Over the past 22 years, the ranch (or 'the farm', as we have always called it) has gone through many transformations, as has the entire Hearts Haven Ranch family. In fact, it went from only one of us living here in 2003, to ten of us by 2018.

Our family has walked a lot of roads in the last 22 years. We've traveled through blended family dynamics, death, adoption, trauma and loss, mental illness, marital trials and tribulations, and all the spiritual battles that come with the territory. We have also been blessed with new life, lots and lots of new life! We have been blessed with the opportunity to live out the callings on each of our lives. They look a little different that any of us could have imagined, and have unfolded in ways no one could have predicted. But God has been so, so good to us.

This place has given us the opportunity to walk with our Father so very closely. To worship and study His ways, to cry and pray and fellowship, to repent and seek forgiveness, to receive and extend grace, to fall and be lifted up again. All within the refuge that is His magnificent Texas countryside.

And through it all, God has been equipping each member of our family for the work at hand.

In 2024, the Hearts Haven Ranch 501(c)3 was established, launching us into the next phase of work here. Towards the end of that year, God spoke the words "Open the gates." We didn't fully know what He meant by that, but the gates have most definitely been swung wide open!

Since the start of 2025, we have had a rapid expansion of our animal rescue work, along with the inititiation of some of our first community outreach programs. The hand of God has moved, over and over again, with each step we take, following after His ultimate plans for Hearts Haven Ranch. He has revealed bits and pieces of those plans to us over the years, but we know that there is still much to be revealed.
